As a long time fan of Koivu, I can say that when there was no one else, he was here. He's helped create a winning atmosphere in Minnesota. But I think the time for a largely diminished role for him has come. Quite frankly it probably should have been done while Yeo was still here. But Mikko has had a couple of very nice seasons over the past couple.

Mikko's age is showing and it's glaring at times. He's been getting slower but this season he is really sticking out. His skill level looks to be regressing a bit as he has missed so many prime scoring opportunities this season.

I do think there is still room for him on this roster, unfortunately at a high price, but I think if Boudreau centers him with 3rd or even 4th line minutes you probably get an aging player that stays fresher longer while giving minutes to a younger player like EE.

It's funny; i always see the titles of these articles and i can never guess how the team is doing. The titles are either "Wild Figure it Out," or "Wild Need to Figure it Out." Looks like you guys are in the thick of a race, so it can't be all bad. What's the scouting report on Ennis. I see he has 6 goals. What's his useage like?

Yeah, Wild are definitely in the hunt as of now, and they probably will end up with a low playoff seed. But they're just not good enough to make any kind of realistic run this post season. Not the way they're playing.

If contracts were based on effort I think Ennis would be siging a pretty big one when his current one is up. Unfortunately all the effort in the world doesn't make up for meager skill. In reality he should have about 20 goals by now. He's created many very nice chances for himself and had a few fall into his lap as well. He just can't finish. He's getting mostly 3rd line minutes, some nights 4th, some nights 2nd. Boudreau seems to find a different spot for him every night. I don't dislike Ennis, but he's a very marginal NHL player at best.

He's one of those guys that would probably be an all star in the AHL, but his skill just doesnt' translate to the bigs.

Thats what plagued him the last year in Buffalo. Ufortunately it was probably thw concussions that did that. He scored 20 goals 4 or 5 years in a row before then.

Foligno playing as advertised? I loved that contract you signed him to

Foligno is another strong effort guy. I like his size and speed, but he's another one that shows a ton of effort without being a real difference maker.

He was a decent sign, but this squad needs a little more skill in the bottom six.
